Fertility rates have reduced considerably in the last 100 years and the reason for infertility mainly lies with the males. There are several reasons for male infertility. One of the important factors is the change of diet patterns. There are various vitamin supplements available to enhance the male fertility. Hence, some dietary, environmental and lifestyle changes can bring about the change in infertility.
Vitamin Supplements for Male Fertility
Consuming following supplements can help increase the male fertility by increasing the sperm mobility and count. The treatment will obviously take a few months and will not give the results overnight.
Arginine –
- It is a non essential amino acid which is needed to produce healthy sperms.

- The deficiency of this vitamin reduces sperm movement and their count.
- This is one of the frequent vitamin B12 deficiency and hence should be checked properly whether your intake in adequate or not.
Vitamin E -
- This vitamin improves the total health of the sperm.
- Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant, which protects the sperm from damage by the free radicals.
Omega Fatty Acids -
- It is found in fishes, flax seeds oil and sunflower oils.
- It enhances male fertility and sperm membrane fluidity.
Some lifestyle changes that can bring about the change in male fertility are -
- Diet – Improper nutrition can inhibit sperm production, impair hormone function and produce abnormal sperm.
- Alcohol – Reduce or avoid alcohol consumption as alcohol intake causes defective sperm.
- Smoking – Avoid smoking as it leads to low sperm count.
- Drugs – Recreational drugs leads to low sperm count and thus male fertility affects.
