There are wonderful vitamins that can help you to get rid of your yawning at your work. It is Vitamin B-complex that can come to your rescue.
Vitamin B complex has eight components: thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid pyridoxine, folic acid, cobalamin and biotin. The first six vitamins are also called B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9 and B12 respectively.
Who Needs Vitamin B-complex?
- Definitely all of us do, but the ones who survive on processed or microwavable foods want it more as they do not receive the sufficient levels of this vitamin.
- As B vitamins constantly get flushed out of one’s body, individuals who are on a weight loss program or are alcoholics are at the risk of losing these essential vitamins.
- Even people who are on some drugs or take antibiotics regularly tend to be vitamin B deficient.
What Vitamin is Good for Energy?
- Thiamine or B1: You need this for a better memory, less body pain and better regeneration of red blood cells.
- Riboflavin or B2: This helps us to get rid of our fatigue. A reduced Vitamin B2 level can lead to anaemia and even blindness.
- Niacin or B3: This vitamin helps in energy production in our bodies. It is useful in treatment of high cholesterol and neurological disorders.
- Pantothenic Acid or B5: This boosts your immunity system and is the most effective in reducing stress.
- Folic Acid and B6: These two vitamins together take care of cholesterol breaking.
Folic acid is essential for pregnant women, its deficiency during pregnancy can lead to birth defects.
- Cobalamin or B12: It is the most important of all vitamins. It looks after immunity system, energy production, regeneration of blood cells and proper gene function.
- Biotin: Metabolism of fat and proteins.
Sources of these Vitamins:
Fortified cereals, noodles, bread are good sources of folic acid. For all other Vitamin B-complex you can get it from poultry, meat, fish and other animal products like eggs, milk, yogurt and cheese. Vegetarian sources can be potatoes, broccoli, spinach, bananas, asparagus, dried apricots, figs, dates, pulses and nuts.
In case you want a supplement, liquid supplements are better than the usual ones.
