Excess of Vitamin A consumed during pregnancy is said to be very harmful for the baby. “Too much of something is always bad” this quote holds good with regards to vitamin intake also.

Some women tend to get carried away with the several benefits of Vitamin A and tend to take an over dose of it. Not realizing that it is bound to cause more harm than good to the fetus.

According to a research conducted on several pregnant women, it was found that women who consumed 10,000 units of vitamin- A had babies suffering from birth defects.

Vitamin A is stored for a long time in the body and so consuming large amounts of vitamin A before getting pregnant also will prove to be very harmful for the baby.

If you are eating food rich in vitamin A then do not consume vitamin A supplements, or else it will prove to be very harmful for the baby.

Make a wise decision about the food you eat during pregnancy, do not eat too much of it or do not eat too less. Eat a right moderate and balanced amount.
