Vitamins To Be Taken During Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a very delicate and important phase in one’s life. It is important that one takes care of themselves and eat the right type of food. Vitamins especially should be taken only if advised by the doctor. If taken in extreme quantities that is very less or very high amounts, it is bound to affect the health of the baby.

Here are two vitamins, which are very important during the phase of pregnancy. Take them once you get a green signal from your doctor.

Vitamin B12: This vitamin helps in the production of new cells. This is important, as pregnancy requires production of new cells. This vitamin helps produce strong blood cells and a healthy nervous system. This vitamin is found is in abundance in non-vegetarian food, especially meat, liver, eggs etc.

Vegetarian food rich in vitaminB12 are pulses, cereals, potatoes, bananas etc.

Vitamin D: Our body produces this vitamin when the skin is exposed to the sun. This vitamin helps in the development of the baby’s bones and teeth. So make sure you spend some time in the sun. This vitamin is then stored in our body and comes very handy during pregnancy.

These two vitamins are important, so make a note of them and ask your doctor about it.
