Cure Skin Diseases with Vitamin A

Disorders of the skin vary from person to person and a well balanced diet usually fortifies against skin diseases. It is used as natural and synthetic retinoids.

Uses of Vitamin A - Vitamin A is found to:
•    Protect the skin,
•    Check signs of aging and improve eyesight
•    Helps prevent damage from free radicals as an antioxidant.

The most commonly found skin disease is Psoriais. Psoriasis is a type of skin disease that seems never to cure. It looks reddish and scaly and is found in and around the ears, on the scalp, on buttocks and genitals.

Retinoids found useful in the treatment of Psoriasis are:
•    Etrenate and
•    Acitretin

Retinoids for the treatment of Severe Acne:
•    Tretinoin (Retin-A) and
•    Isotretinoin (Accutane)

Caution:

Pregnant women should be cautious in consuming Retinoids because it has been found to cause birth defects. Though natural sources of Vitamin A is not found to cause birth defects, synthetic derivatives of retinol, are known to cause serious birth defects and pregnant women are advised neither to consume nor to apply on affected parts in the form of topical tretinoin.

Optimize your food sources (animal and plant):

Retinol (the animal sources): cod liver oil, beef, lamb and chicken livers, butter, cheddar cheese, eggs, milk, mackerel, sardines etc.

Beta-Carotene (pro-Vitamin A, the plant sources): carrots, parsley, spinach, sweet potatoes, dried apricots, watercress, broccoli, ripe mangoes, tomatoes, cabbages, green peas etc.
