Vitamins Help Arthritis

Vitamins are an important part of the daily diet of an individual. Vitamin deficiencies lead to a host of illnesses. Vitamins can help even those diseases which are believed to have no cure through them. For instance, vitamins are proved to be beneficial to arthritic conditions. The following are some vitamins beneficial to arthritis.

Vitamin B5

The use of pantothenic acid is considered valuable in arthritis. Arthritis is a vitamin-deficiency disease which could be prevented or relieved by a diet containing adequate amounts of pantothenic acid. The pantothenic acid content of the blood of persons suffering from rheumatoid arthritis is lower than that in healthy individuals. In some cases, 1,000 mg administered daily was found effective in reducing the pain caused by arthritis.

Vitamin B3

 This vitamin reduces tissue swelling and dilates small arteries, improved grip strength and joint mobility and increasing blood flow. Note that Vitamin B3 is NOT advised for persons with high blood pressure, gout or sliver disorders.

Vitamin B6

B6 is another B that reduces tissue swelling. B-6 shrinks the synovial membranes that line the weight-bearing surfaces of the joints. It thus helps to control pain and to restore mobility in the elbows, shoulders, knees and other joints.

Vitamin D

New research makes the case that vitamin D helps protect older women against rheumatoid arthritis — an autoimmune joint disorder of unknown cause. Recent studies have also linked deficiencies of vitamin D to other disorders such as certain cancers, heart disease, diabetes, and even unexplained pain but its role in human autoimmune disease is less clear.
