Vitamin D is essential for the proper functioning of the body parts. Vitamin D is essential for Calcium absorption and its proper functioning in your body. Vitamin D3 acts as hormone as well as Vitamin. When this Vitamin D3 hormone binds with calcium it acts as vitamin.

It is difficult for human body to absorb calcium properly if sufficient amount of Vitamin D3 is not present. Vitamin D3 also known as Cholecalciferol is mainly used as a nutritional supplement to prevent or treat Vitamin D deficiency.

According to earlier guidelines below 50nmol/l was considered to be Vitamin D3 deficiency. But the recent research suggests that for healthy bones 80nmol/l of Vitamin D3 is required.
