Vitamins are essential substance that our body requires to function properly. Vitamins are usually found in the food we eat everyday. But there are times when our body requires more vitamins especially during pregnancy stage and infancy.
Multivitamins are given to people who need additional vitamins. People who cannot get the required amount of energy from the food they eat are given multivitamins.
How should this supplement be taken?
Multivitamins come in different forms like regular tablets, chews and liquids. And if the medicine is in liquid form, always measure every dose. Mostly they are taken once a day. Consult the doctor before you start taking multivitamins.

• Always tell your doctor regarding your allergies to any drugs.
• Make sure your doctor knows about all the prescribed and non-prescribed medicines you are taking especially if you are taking any anticoagulants (blood thinners). Do not take any multivitamins without consulting your doctor.
• For women it’s important to consult a doctor before taking multivitamins. Make sure you tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking multivitamins, consult your doctor about continuing taking the vitamins.
• Do not skip any appointments with your doctor.
What should I do if I forget a dose?
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. But if its time for the next dose skip the dose you missed. Never take two doses to make up for the missed dose.
What side effects can this supplement cause?
Multivitamins also cause side effects. Consult your doctor if you have upset stomach or bad taste.
How do I store the supplement?
Stock up the medicine in the same carton it came in. You can also keep it in an air tight container. Store it in normal room temperature, and away from too much of heat and dampness. Keep it out of the reach of children. Never store medicines which have crossed the expiry date.
